- Achieved a significant litigation success for our client, a Chinese investor, in a commercial dispute involving the cancellation of a €2 million real estate Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) in Cyprus. The client, who had invested under the Cyprus Investment Program, opted to withdraw from the purchase after her application for naturalization was rejected. Successfully secured a judgment by consent from the District Court, compelling the Cypriot property development company to return the full amount paid. This was achieved through a strategic application for summary judgment, avoiding a full trial.
- Achieved a significant victory in employment law, representing Mr. E.A. in a case against Messrs. [XX] Radio Ltd, a prominent media company, we challenged the wrongful dismissal of our client, who had served the company for eight years. The termination was conducted without proper notice or justification as required by the Termination of Employment Law (L.24/1967). Despite the employer's attempt to justify the dismissal through an unreliable witness, our rigorous cross-examination discredited their case. The Limassol Industrial Disputes Tribunal ruled in our favor, awarding compensation for unfair dismissal, notice period, accrued salary, and legal costs, thereby affirming the illegality of the termination.
- Secured a major victory in the District Court of Nicosia, successfully dismissing an ex-parte application related to an alleged breach of Intellectual Property Rights, passing off, and fraud. The case centered on our Cyprus-based client, who had innovated a plasma-based sterilization technology, crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite challenges from a research center seeking to restrict the client’s IP claims, our team effectively argued against the application, demonstrating that the legal requirements were unmet and that other parties might also have claims.
