Stella is the Head of the Shipping practice since October 2022, AGPLAW’s latest department that operates as of September 2022. Stella has spent over 12 years as a Senior Associate at AGPLAW, involved with all matters pertaining to maritime, commercial, civil and IP law where she gained invaluable experience until her promotion to Head of Shipping.
Stella’s current focus lies in maritime law, shipping law and contract law, including all aspects of wet and dry shipping litigation. She specialises in commercial, corporate and finance matters in the shipping sector and also deals with the registration of ships under the Cyprus flag and all other ship registry transactions. She also handles transactions involving the sale and purchase of ships, and generally deals with the drafting and reviewing of shipping related agreements, contracts of affreightment and bills of lading.
Her practice includes advising ship owners, charterers, cargo interests and insurers.
Stella was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She graduated in law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and was awarded an LL.M in International Commercial Law with a specialization in Maritime Law, from City University, London. She was admitted to the Cyprus Bar in 2011 and she joined the AGPLAW Litigation practice in the same year. She was promoted to Senior Associate in January of 2019.
Since her admission to the Cyprus Bar, Stella was involved in commercial and civil litigation with particular expertise in commercial, civil and IP disputes before the Cyprus Courts. As part of her daily tasks, Stella was also heavily involved in banking law, having handled a volume of cases in representing a number of local banks in Cyprus.
Stella is fluent in English and Greek.
