We are proud to announce that on April 22nd, 2023 our Senior Legal Counsel, Mr. Michael Davies, successfully resolved a trademark opposition case, favouring our esteemed client – a prominent shipping fund operating under a well-known Cyprus Investment Firm.

Background of the Matter

AGP Law was engaged to represent our client, as well as their sub-maritime fund, in opposing an objection filed by a French insurance company against our client’s EU trademark registration.

The Decision

In view of our involvement, the opposing party withdrew their original opposition to our client’s application for an EU trademark registration. Consequently, the trademark was successfully registered with the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) as both a word and a figurative trademark, and therefore it did not affect the name or marketing of our client’s fund operations within the maritime industry.
